In 1964 Arnaldo Moretti, president of Catholic Action, Antonio Allegri and Angelo Cambiè gathered around them a group of people who work in collaboration with "Mani Tese", which in Milan supports the missionaries of the Pontifical Institute for Foreign Missions. the fight against hunger in the world.
Our first action dates back to 1965: we are in India, Khammam - Lodi Farm. We have built a farm equipping it with livestock, agricultural machinery and irrigation pumps.
In 1971 we take the first step in Africa in Birava (Congo). We build a dispensary: a large building with visiting rooms, a laboratory, a classroom for lessons and rooms for the hospitalization to combat inadequate health care.
In 1979 we set up as an Association.
In 1978 the dispensary, called Center de Sante Ville de Lodi, was officially inaugurated. It is equipped with a maternity ward and remains a point of reference during the cholera epidemic in 1981. It is currently managed by the Zairian health agency.
Since 1982 we have been part of the FOCSIV network.
1983 - Obtaining the eligibility to operate as a Non-Governmental Organism (O.N.G.)
In 1987 our long history in Rwanda begins with the construction of the Muhura aqueduct.
In 1994 we are also present during the dramatic months of the civil war in which our aqueducts continue to function and allow a precious commodity such as water to never fail. After 30 years we are still alongside the Rwandan people with development projects.
In 2001, thanks to the charisma of Sister Natalina Isella, Ek Abana was founded in Congo, a shelter for abandoned girls accused of witchcraft.
In 2008, our volunteer in Congo Natalina Isella was awarded the "Woman of the Year" award for her commitment alongside girls accused of witchcraft.
In 2010 our aid worker Alberto Acquistapace won the International Volunteer of the Year Award launched by FOCSIV following the ACQUA PER RECONSTRUIRE HAITI project after the disastrous earthquake of January 2010 in which 300,000 people lost their lives.
In 2011, the Muyanza Health Center and the "San Giuseppe" Orphanage in Rwanda were born.
2011 is the year in which the first "City of Lodi Relay Marathon" is held, a charity fundraising event.
In 2012 we became a partner of the Milan Foundation for Expo 2015 in the "Tomatogo - Jeunes Filles Pour l'Agro" project in Togo.
Since 2013 we have been dealing with migrants and new poverties in Italy, supporting local authorities and associations in the area through training, awareness and social inclusion projects.
It was 2013 when the "AQUAPLUS model" was inaugurated in Haiti: a project that includes both water and agricultural support interventions to improve the living conditions of the local population.
2014 - 50 years of activity of our organization
In 2015 we are present at EXPO Milan 2015 - Italian Pavilion with a showcase on the Tomatogo - FruiTogo project.
In 2016 we founded "No One Out" together with 3 other Brescia NGOs (SCAIP, SVI, MMI)
In 2019 we start the largest water project in Rwanda. "The Gatsibo Aqueduct System" which brings clean water to 51,800 people.
