Muhura School – Nonna Amelia

The Muhura nursery and primary school was born from the former St. Joseph orphanage, after the Government of Rwanda closed the orphanages and conducted a program for the reintegration of children into families, Sister Odille converted the former orphanage into a nursery and primary school in 2018 which, through school support, offers children from vulnerable families the opportunity to attend school and have one meal a day. Also thanks to this support, the Mother of Divine Providence - Nonna Amelia Nursery and Primary School was ranked as the best school in the Gatsibo District also in 2022.

The school hosts 300 students and has 12 teachers, there were 12 active school supports in 2022.

WHAT WE DO

  •  The purchase of school supplies for students
  • The preparation of at least one nutritious meal a day for students
  • the contribution to the salary of the schoolteachers
  • Financial support for families in difficulty to allow them to pay for the school fees
